Today Sprint announced that it will carry the Motorola i1, the world's first push-to-talk Android smartphone, for its Sprint Nextel iDEN network.

The device will offer a 3.1-inch touchscreen display, WiFi support, the Opera Mini 5 browser, a 5 megapixel camera with flash, support for Flash 8 web content, the Swype touchscreen keyboard, and support for microSD cards, all in a rugged Mil-Spec 810 shell. Initial screenshots point to a MOTOBLUR-style user interface, although it has not been confirmed if this device will offer that seamless social network integration.

The Motorola i1 will be available in North America this summer, although pricing has not yet been announced yet. To pre-order the device, you can visit www.sprint.com/motoi1.
